The tour is intended to make up for the postponed series from September. The Pakistan Cricket Board announced in April 2022 that the series would take place. New Zealand Cricket said in May 2022 that they would play more matches on the tour and pay the PCB for the postponed series. The Super League does not include any of the five ODIs played in the series. The PCB released the tour’s schedule in October. New Zealand will also visit Pakistan before this one in December 2022 to play two Test matches and three One-Day Internationals.
