MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government will consider resuming schools for understudies of classes 1 to 4 if schools can easily run classes 5 to 8 that are set to restart from January 27, state School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said on Tuesday.

Addressing journalists in Parbhani city, around 515 kms from Mumbai, the pastor said RT-PCR trial of a large portion of the educators were directed in front of resuming of schools for classes 5 to 8. “Schools have been cleaned (for resuming). After the state government gave its gesture, schools for classes 9 to 12 resumed for understudies from November 23, 2020, almost nine months after they needed to close because of COVID-19 lockdown, with exacting usage of pandemic conventions. “Around 22 lakh understudies have begun going to these classes (for 9 to 12) in 22,204 schools in the state. Presently we are resuming schools for understudies of classes 5 to 8 from tomorrow (January 27), where 78.47 lakh understudies are selected,” said an authority from the state instruction office. The classes will essentially zero in on subjects like science, math and English language, which implies understudies should convey less books, he said.
