The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday successfully conducted the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2017. The results for the same will be declared on June 8.
A total of 11, 38,890 students registered for this examination including 1522 NRIs, 480 OCIs, 70 PIOs and 613 Foreigners. This exam has been conducted in 10 languages at 1921 exam centres in 103 cities.
For smooth conduction of the examination, 490 CBSE officials were deployed to the exam centres to personally supervise the examination alongwith 3,500 observers and city coordinators from CBSE affiliated schools.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, by a June 2016 ordinance, amended the Medical Council of India Act and Dental Council of India Act and made the provision for integrated NEET for UG admissions for 95,000 seats (65,000 MBBS &25,000 BDS) in all government medical colleges, private medical colleges and deemed universities in the entire country.
The seats are classified in the following categories:
- All India quota seats
- State government quota seats
- State/management/NRI quota seats in private medical/dental colleges or any private/deemed university
- Central Pool Quota Seats
