NEW DELHI: The online application process to fill 62,907 vacancies in the Indian Railways Group D has started from February 10, 2018 and will end on March 12, 2018.
The Railway Recruitment Boards has invited only online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of various posts in Level 1 of 7 CPC Pay Matrix for the vacancies in various units of Indian Railways.
The candidate has to submit application online through RRB websites only and one application is required to be submitted to the selected RRB for all posts notified in Centralised Employment Notice.
Candidates should have their own mobile number and valid & active personal email id and keep them active for the entire duration of recruitment as RRBs shall send all recruitment related communications only through SMS and email till the recruitment is completely over.
The board will not entertain any request for change of mobile number and e-mail address at any stage.

|Computer Based Test (CBT)||During April and May, 2018|
Qualification: The candidate must have a passing certificate of Class 10th or ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent or holding National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification should not apply.
Age Limit: The candidate must fall in the age bracket of 18 to 31 years. Age-relaxation is applicable as per government rules.
Pay Scale: The selected candidates will be eligible to receive a monthly salary of Rs 18,000 per month + allowances as per 7th CPC Level 1.
Application Fees: Candidates belonging to Unreserved (UR) and OBC categories are required to pay Rs. 500/- as application fee for Railway Group D Exam 2018. While candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex-Serviceman/ PWDs/ Female/ Transgender/ Minorities/ Economically backward class are required to pay Rs. 250/- as application fee.
Stages of Exam: There shall be a Computer Based Test (CBT). Candidates qualified in the CBT shall have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Marks will be normalized in the CBT.
First stage of CBT
- Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories : UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -30%.
- Will consist of multiple-choice objective type questions: English Only
- There will be negative Marking as for every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted.
- Total Duration : 90 Min, No of Questions: 100
Second Stage: PET
Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is necessary for all the candidates if they want to get selected through Railway Group D Recruitment Exam.
PET for Male Candidates
- Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down and
- Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
